  Courses can now write CE Credits back to Membes, extending existing credit write-back functionality beyond individual videos & webinars.

Webcastcloud Video Platform – May 2026 Release Notes

This release includes improvements to video player, courses and quizzes, Live Studio enhancements, analytics fixes, usability updates, and reporting improvements across the platform.

New Features

Courses

• Added the ability to display and manage member course results, including quiz answers and quiz attempt history.
• Added the ability for administrators to delete quiz attempts within courses, allowing users to retake quizzes after reaching the maximum number of attempts.

Content Library

• Added support for disabling video seeking at the individual Play Page level.
• Added 1.25x playback speed support to the Video player.

New Features

• re:Members SSO Integration: Added support for Single Sign-On with re:Members, enabling users to authenticate directly using their re:Members credentials, and pass through member types to webcastcloud for managing content access and pricing tiers.

• Course Access Type Settings: Added new Access Type options when configuring course pricing, allowing administrators to define whether a course is free, available for purchase, or not available.  Similar to 'channel course' functionality.

• Live Chat Moderation: Hosts and co-hosts within the live studio, can now be assigned moderator permissions within chat. Previously just members were the moderators.

• Analytics API: Video analytics results can now be sorted by last viewed activity.

• Admin – Video Management: Added a processing notification on the video edit page to clearly indicate when a video is still being processed.

• Content Library: Discounted pricing now displays correctly across category pages, consistent with the homepage.

• Admin: Added the option to include captions when replacing the primary video file.

• Admin: Updated default page size to 25 items in admin listings.

• Analytics: Improved calculations for sales analytics reporting.

• Content Library: Fixed issue where category card images were incorrectly being applied as header images on category pages.

• Video Player: Quizzes are now clickable if the user has reached that point in the video or if seeking ahead is allowed

• Analytics - Videos: Modal now displays “Preparing” and “Ready for Download” statuses

• Member Profile - Course Analytics: Added colored status indicators for improved visibility

• Admin: Creating a new API key now shows a confirmation message and the new key immediately appears in the list

• Course Analytics: Search now returns results across all available data, not just the currently loaded page

• User Profile: Improved certificate download functionality

• Download All: Fixed issue where “Download All” for Members and Login History only downloaded paged results, now retrieves full data

• Certificates for CE Content:

  • Generate certificates for videos or courses with CE Credits

  • Certificates are available if the associated CE Template has the "Certificate" flag enabled

  • Users can download certificates from their profile page

  • Certificate styling includes a banner image, background, optional signature, company name, and provider information

• Video Player – Disable Seek Forward:

  • New setting to disable seeking ahead using the skip button or media timeline

  • Can be configured site-wide or at the video template level

  • Ideal for scenarios where users must watch 100% of the video before skipping is allowed

• Add login time to user login history in member details

Release - 3 June 2025 

New Features:

• Stripe Dual Payments:

  You can now assign a secondary payment provider to specific videos, channels, or courses.
  This is ideal for users operating under multiple organizations, subsidiaries, or providers who need to route payments through separate Stripe accounts, while still delivering and selling content from a single unified site. The correct Stripe gateway will be used based on the assigned content, ensuring accurate payment processing and reporting for each entity.

• Custom Button Labels: 

  Set custom labels for the "Watch Now" and "Access Now" buttons on both video and resource cards, as well as their respective play pages.

  This allows you to tailor the call-to-action language to better suit your audience or content type. For example, changing "Watch Now" to "Play Now" or "Access Now" to "Open Resource".  
  
   

• Content Access Expiry:
   

  Content Access Expiry allows you to define how long a user can access purchased content before it automatically expires. When a user purchases a product, such as a video or resource, you can now set an expiry duration (e.g. 30, 60, or 365 days).

  After the set number of days, access to the content will be revoked automatically for the user, without any manual action required.
  With this update you can:

  • Within Admin, define content expiry for a video or resource that can be purchased (e.g., 7, 60, or 365 days)
  • Expiry date is displayed on the front-end library play page and in the shopping cart for members

  • After the defined period, user access to the purchased content is automatically revoked

    This feature is ideal for limited-time access offers, compliance-based training windows, or subscription-style access without needing recurring billing.

Release - 26 May 2025

New:

• Content Expiry Controls: 
  You can now set an expiry period for purchased content. This feature allows admins to define how many days a user can access content after purchase. Once the specified duration has passed, the content will automatically expire and become unavailable to the user - ideal for time-limited offers or compliance-based access windows.  If a user has purchased the content, and their access has now expired, they will need to purchase the content again.
   
• New Payment Platform: Authorize.Net Integration
  We’ve expanded our payment options with a new integration for Authorize.Net. This payment gateway allows for secure, reliable transactions directly through your video and content library.  Organizations can now accept payments using Authorize.Net for content purchases, subscriptions, and event registrations - offering greater flexibility and support for existing merchant accounts.

• Stripe Dual Payment Providers
  You can now configure a secondary Stripe payment gateway to support multiple content owners. This feature allows payments to be routed based on the content owner, enabling revenue to be processed through separate Stripe accounts. Ideal for platforms hosting content from multiple organizations, this provides flexibility in managing payouts and maintaining independent financial workflows.

  The Chapters and Captions Editor provides an intuitive interface for adding, editing and managing video metadata. Easily create, update, and reorder video chapters to improve navigation and viewer engagement. Captions can be replaced, edited and updated to ensure accuracy and accessibility. The editor supports time-stamped precision, allowing seamless synchronization of spoken content with captions and chapters.

• New CE Template Features and Quiz Controls
  • Quiz Attempt Limits: Admins can now set a maximum number of quiz attempts for CE-eligible videos. Once the limit is reached, users can no longer retake the quiz. If no limit is set, users may attempt the quiz unlimited times.
  • Partial Credit on Failure: A new setting allows users to receive 50% of CE credits if they exhaust all quiz attempts without passing—ensuring partial recognition for effort and participation.
  • Video Progression Control: To ensure content completion, video seeking is now restricted until the video has been watched in full. Users can only rewind (e.g., using the 10-second back button), but cannot skip ahead.

• OAuth User Info endpoint, modify integration settings to support either GET or POST requests for various OAuth integrations, specifically wp-oauth plugin that uses GET.

Stage Mode is a Video Player Template that can be set on a single video, and uses the video player background to provide a ‘stage-like’ experience and more opportunity for sponsor, product or advertising placement.
• Site Wide Video Player Style Settings
  Update your Video Player look-and-feel across your video library from the site wide player settings. Set your corporate colors using Video Mode and all your videos will be updated to better represent your brand. Video Mode allows you to set a background image or background color, as well as update all colors on the media controls.
   
• Update Player Appearance for a Single Video
  Individually update your video player settings from the site wide video player template. The video can be updated to another video player template (ie, stage mode or video mode) and the player colors and background image can be updated on the individual video.
   
• Display Video Milestones for Member Video Analytics
  As a member passes through specific viewing milestones during on-demand playback, the checkpoints 25%, 50%, 75%, 90% and 100% are stored for the member's viewing analytics.
  Milestones will be displayed in Video Analytics for each member.  
• Google Tag Manager Integration
  Google Tag Manager can now be integrated with your video library. Tag manager allows you to capture event data based on event triggers, the data is sent to GTM and displayed in Google Analytics with your member’s Customer ID and/or User ID. Google Tag Manager allows you to collect more user data, track their user journey and capture events such as page impressions, search & filters on Channels, Categories, Tags & Speakers.
   
• PayPal PayFlow – Sales Order Refunds
  For all new purchases that are processed using PayPal PayFlow payment gateway, refunds if required can now be processed in webcastcloud Admin.  A refund has the option to remove or retain access to the video content purchased. Refunds can be process under Analytics >Sales Orders
   
• Speakers and Speaker Role
  Speakers are the latest way to tag one or more speakers to your video.  A Speaker Search Filter can be added to your video library so your members can filter results specifically via Speaker Name.  All Speakers will have a member profile, although if they only have the Speaker role they will not have access to login to your video library as a member.  
  An existing member can be assigned the Speaker role to be added as a Speaker to a video.
  Speakers will replace Presenters. All presenter data will be migrated to Speakers table.
   
• Private Videos
  A video can now be set to Private, rather than relying on the Private status of the channel. A private channel will only be accessible to view from approved members via a Video Access List or a Channel. A video can now have any status (standby, live, on-demand, etc) as well as being Private.
   
• Offline Video
  A video status can now be updated to Offline. The video will not be available to view anywhere on the video library.

• Capture Education Points for Video Activity

Under Continuing Education Settings, an Admin can now select a template for Duration Watched. This is an extension of the Continuing Education Points module that currently supports quizzing. 

The template can be set to the Video that has the Points value assigned.  This will assign Education Points to a member based on the percentage they have covered for the video. For example, if 1 CE Point is assigned to a video that is 60 minutes in duration, a member must watch a minimum of 95% of the 60 minutes to gain their 1 CE Point. 

• Hide Events Channel from Video Library

Ideal for pre and during your virtual or hybrid events, to hide your event channel from your main video library.  Your viewers will require a direct link to the event channel or use the event registration/login to access to online conference.  Post-event you may want to make the content searchable from your main video library. At this time you can turn this flag off to make your on-demand conference available from your main video catalog.
