Overview
Event Registration Pre-requisites
- Channel is best for an event with more than one video.
- Play Page is ideal for webinars or other live videos where there is only one stream.
- Video page is best when you do have a video library, or do not want any relationship between this event and your video library.
It is best that you have one of the above setup before you create the event registration below, although it can be added after the event registration has been created.
Create the Event
- Browse to Events >Add Event
- Enter a Name for your event (this is for your reference only, and is only seen by admins)
- Save
Event Overview
From the Event Information tab, you can complete the following event details that will be displayed on the registration page to your viewers
- Title: The title that will appear on the Event
- Select Event Type: This is where you will select the content you are making the event for e.g. Channel, Play Page or Video. When your event is live, your registered viewers can login and will be directed to the content you have selected below.
- Channel: will send logged in viewers to the selected channel.
- Select the Channel from the list. You may have a channel created specifically for this event.
- Play Page: will send logged in viewers to your Play Page. (Live Stream or OnDemand video)
- Select the channel that the video belongs to
- Select the video from the list of videos
- Video: will send logged in viewers to the video page, which is only using the video player
- Channel: will send logged in viewers to the selected channel.
NOTE: You may leave the Channel or Video selection blank at this time. If your event page is not live yet, and you do not want viewers to be directed to the channel or play page after completing registration then you can leave this blank at this time.
- Description: add a detailed description about your event. Using the WYSIWIG buttons to add headings, bullet points, etc.
- Enter the Date, Start Time, Timezone
- Timezone Format: this is used to select how you want the timezone to be displayed on the Event Registration page.
- Event Duration:
- Single Day: select if the event is only run for hours within a day. your duration event will be displayed in minutes or hours.
- Multiple Days: select if you want your registration page to display your event duration in the day/s format. ie. 3 day/s
- Duration: Enter the duration that corresponds to the Event Duration type above
Registration Information
- Registration Heading: Add a custom heading to appear on the registration input form. If left blank, the heading Register will be used
- Registration Confirmation Message: add a custom success message. If you did not select a Channel or Video above, then your registration will receive the registration confirmation message entered here.
- Login Heading: customize the Login heading that will appear above the login form.
- Private Statement: Enable the privacy statement if this is a requirement for your event.
- Enter Custom Privacy Statement: You can input your own privacy policy and hyperlink to your privacy policy webpage
Registration Settings
- Registrations Are Video Channel Members: Enable if your event registrants will have access to your video library. Once the login to your event, they will be able to browse to other videos within your library. If unsure, leave false. Event viewers will only have access to the content for this event.
- All Members must register: This will mean that all Video Library members will need to input their details in the registration form, filling our all the registration fields that are required. If this is turned off, a member that has already accessed your video library is not required to register and can you the Login option instead. This will simplify access to events for members whom we already have their personal data for.
- Display Registration form: This allows viewers to Register from the registration page. It should only be false if registration should be disabled.
- Display Event Overview: This will display a pre-populated event overview on the registration page, using the Event Information you input above.
- Save
You have now completed your event registration page. You can select Launch from the Event List to view the registration page.
