Quizzes are designed to appear automatically at a specific point during video playback. In most cases, if you watch the video normally, the quiz will display without any action required.
Here’s how it works:
- The quiz is configured to appear when the video reaches a specific timestamp (for example, 25:30).
- As the video reaches that point, playback will pause and the quiz should automatically pop up.
- If the quiz does not automatically appear, you can manually open it by selecting the Poll icon in the bottom-right corner of the video player's control bar.
- Some devices or browser settings may prevent the automatic pop-up from displaying.
- Once the video has reached the designated quiz time, opening the quiz via the Poll icon will load the question.
If you've skipped ahead:
If you click directly on the yellow quiz indicator in the progress bar, the quiz may not load immediately.
This is because the player relies on the video playing through the designated quiz timestamp to trigger the quiz.
To ensure the quiz appears:
- Move the playback position to just before the yellow quiz indicator.
- Press Play and allow the video to continue through the quiz timestamp.
- If the quiz doesn't automatically appear, select the Poll icon to open it manually.
Why is it designed this way?
The quiz trigger is activated as the video plays through the designated timestamp. This ensures viewers engage with the relevant content before answering the quiz question.
Following the steps above resolves virtually all cases where a quiz does not initially appear for users who are unfamiliar with the video player.
How to make sure the quiz appears:
- Play the video normally and let it reach the quiz time.
- If you want to skip ahead, use the timeline to jump just before the quiz time, then press play so the playback crosses the timestamp.
- Click the Poll icon to open the quiz once the time has been reached.
