Our platform applies a clear set of rules to determine which discount a user receives when purchasing videos or bundles. To keep pricing predictable, we do not layer or combine multiple discounts on the same item. Instead, the system applies a single discount based on the following priorities and configuration settings.
Discount Prioritization
When multiple types of discounts could apply, they are prioritized in this order:
-
Bundle Discounts
If a user adds items that qualify for a bundle, the bundle discount will automatically take precedence over any individual video pricing, including member prices.
Bundles are designed as promotional incentives, offering a consolidated discount that typically provides better value for purchasing multiple videos together.
A bundle is triggered when a user adds a specified quantity of videos or resources to their cart. For example, you can create a promotion such as “Buy 5 or more videos and get 50% off each.” Once the quantity threshold is reached, the bundle discount is automatically applied to all eligible items.
A bundle can be configured with:- A general discount (available to all users).
- A member-specific discount (only for logged-in users assigned to a member list).
-
Channel-Level Discounts
Discounts can be set at the channel level for all content within a channel that has enabled Inherit from Channel. These will apply to all videos and resources in the channel unless overridden at the content level.
-
Video Pricing (Member and Non-Member)
If the items do not qualify for a bundle, the system applies the pricing set on each video, depending on whether the user is in an assigned member list.
How Inheritance Works
Inherit from Channel – ON
All videos will use the pricing and discount settings defined at the channel level.
This ensures consistency across the entire collection of videos.
Inherit from Channel – OFF
You can set individual pricing and discounts on each video independently.
This allows more granular control for specific content.
Member Discounts and Lists
Member Lists can be assigned to:
- Bundle Discounts – to give members a higher discount percentage when they purchase a qualifying bundle.
- Discounts – which are then assigned to all videos within the selected channel. This allows you to set a consistent member discount across a full library of content.
- Individual Video Pricing – to set a lower member price compared to the general price for specific videos.
If a user belongs to a member list and there is a specific member discount configured (either in a bundle, as a channel-wide discount, or on the individual video), they will automatically receive that pricing.
Key Points to Remember
- No stacking: Discounts are not combined.
- Bundles take precedence: If a bundle applies, it overrides individual video member or non-member pricing.
- Bundles can have separate member and non-member discounts: You can create bundle promotions that reward members with additional savings.
- Video and channel inheritance: Pricing and discount settings can be inherited from the channel or set per video.
