Create a Voucher

Overview

A Voucher entitles a specified group of members with a certain monetary value to be used to spend on your content library. 
A voucher is created with a specific amount, and applied to a Member List. 
A voucher can then be used by those members towards one or more purchases, until the total amount has been used by that member.  
 

Steps: Create a Voucher

The following steps will walk you through how to create and assign a Voucher
  1. Navigate to Monetization >Vouchers
  2. Click Add New
  3. Enter a Name for your voucher.  This will not appear to your members
  4. Enter a Code to be used at time of checkout by members
  5. Set the Amount for the total value of the voucher
  6. Assign a Member List to the Voucher
  7. Turn on the Active flag
  8. Add

    Your voucher code is now ready to share with your Members.

 

Using a Voucher

A Member who has been assigned to the voucher, can use the code on the checkout page. 
Vouchers are supported across all payment gateway providers.

 
Once a member has added an item to their Cart, from the Cart page they can:
  1. Enter the Code >Submit
  2. If the voucher is valid and they are on the assigned Member List, the Total price will be discounted by the voucher amount.
  3. Any balance for the member on that voucher will be stored for future use. 

 

View Voucher Usage

  1. In Admin, navigate to Monetization > Vouchers
  2. From the list, select the Voucher >Edit
  3. From the modal, there will be a table displaying voucher usage.
    Note: The voucher code will also display as a reference on Analytics > Sales Orders

 

Examples of Voucher Usage

  • Voucher value exceeds video price:
    If a voucher is valued at $100 and the video costs $50, applying the voucher on the cart page will reduce the total to $0. The user can then proceed to checkout without needing to enter any credit card details. The remaining $50 will stay on the voucher for future use.

  • Cart total is $0 after voucher application:
    When the cart total updates to $0 after applying a voucher, users can complete their purchase by selecting Checkout without providing credit card information.

  • Voucher value is less than video price:
    If the video costs $120 and the voucher is worth $100, the user will pay the remaining $20 at checkout. The voucher will then be fully used and no balance will remain.

  • Partial voucher use across multiple purchases:
    Members can use a voucher multiple times until its full monetary value is exhausted.
