If a user has reached the maximum number of quiz attempts and needs another opportunity to complete the quiz, administrators can delete a previous failed attempt to allow the user to try again.
Use Case
This feature is commonly used when:
- A user has failed a quiz and reached the maximum allowed attempts
- An administrator wants to grant the user another opportunity to complete the quiz
- An incorrect or accidental attempt needs to be removed
Steps to Delete a Quiz Attempt
In Admin, navigate to:
Library > Courses
- Find the relevant course from the list.
- Select the Actions menu for the course.
- Select Analytics.
- Search for the user's email address.
- Select the user from the results table.
- You will now see the user's quiz results within the course.
- Locate the quiz where the user:
- Failed the quiz
- Has reached the maximum number of attempts
- Select View Attempts.
- Locate the failed attempt you want to remove (typically the most recent failed attempt).
- Select Delete Attempt.
- Confirm the deletion.
Result
Once the attempt has been deleted, the user can return to the course and take the quiz again, provided they are still have access to the course content.
