Overview:
This article guides you through setting up a course. An online course can cover a range of videos and quizzes, that can be organized within a channel, providing a structured and engaging learning experience for your audience. . Additionally, CE Credits can be set and achieved upon completion of a course, adding value for those seeking professional or continuing education.
Prerequisites:
- A channel should be already created already for your course. We recommend a sub-channel under your top-level 'Courses' channel. Learn to: Add a Channel
- Your Channel Type should be Locked, and you have the channel price set if you intend to sell the course.
- Upload all videos for the course to the specific channel. Learn to: Upload a Video
Steps:
- In Webcastcloud Admin, browse to Courses > Add New
- Add the following to the Course Information:
- Title: The title is the name of the course that will be displayed online.
- Course Type: Channel
- Channel: Search for the channel name where your videos reside for the course being created
- Content Type: An optional field that can be used when writing back CE Credits to a 3rd party platform, where the content type needs to be defined. Content Types can be setup under Layout Categories.
- Description: Add a description about the course.
- Click Next
- On the Pricing tab, the price is inherited from the channel. Select Next
- Under Education tab, set the education requirements to complete the course:
- CE Points: Set the Continuing Education Credits that will be awarded upon completing the course. ie. 1.5
- Credit Type: Set your credit type from the drop down menu. ie, CPD. You generally only have one credit type for your organization.
- Module: Optional field. Select a module if you use this field for your CE Credits integration.

Completion Requirements: Select from the options quiz completion or video completion.
- Quiz: If a quiz is selected, you will need to add a quiz to one or more videos in the final step of the course creation. Or your videos already have quizzes setup. The member is required to complete the quiz and meet the pass rate set, to pass the course and gain the CE Points.
- Video Completion: This uses the percentage watched from all the videos in the course, to meet the requirements to complete the course.
- Pass Rate: This is the percentage on either the quiz or the videos. If a user does not achieve the minimum pass rate, they do not pass the course.
- Select Next
- On the Progress tab, select your course progress and completion options:
- Display Course Progress: This will display the course progress bar on the video play pages, to allow the user to see how far through the course they are.
- Show Course Completion: This will display a course completion message at the end of the course.
- External Link: This will display a button on the course completion message to allow the user to easily get to a webpage where their courses or credits are shown. You can send a user to their user profile in webcastcloud, or to a 3rd party application if we are sending back CE Credits through an advanced integration.
- Course Completion Message: You can customize your own course completion message here that will appear to your users upon completion. If this is blank, a default message will be displayed.

Select Next
- On the Content tab, you will see all the videos within your course.
- Drag and drop the videos from the list to change the order they will appear in the course structure
- Click on Edit to add a Quiz to one of more of your videos in the course. Learn more about adding a quiz here.
- If a video already has a quiz, that will be shown by the 'Quiz' symbol on the video details.
- Select Next
- On the final tab Publish, select from the options below:
- Draft: keep your course as a draft if you are not ready for it to be available.
- Online: Select Online, if your course is ready to be published online.
- Offline: Select Offline, if your course was previously online and has historical data that you wish to keep, but no longer want users to be able to take the course.
- Select Save
Your course is now setup and ready for your members.
