Channels allows you to groups together different video content, and will be used to present videos to
your viewers/members on your video library.
A channel is a great way to create a structure and hierarchy to your video content, as well as manage access to different video resources and types of content across your community.
Here are some facts about channels
- A channel is similar to a creating a folder structure for your documents
- Each video is stored within a channel
- A channel can be created within a channel - known as a child-channel.
- A child-channel has a parent channel
- Channels types can be set to manage access to resources within that channel. ie. a channel can be Free, Paid or Locked.
- Videos will inherit by default the channel type that is set.
- A channel can also have other advanced security such as Authentication Required or Private Channel
- A channel can be sold as a single channel product, which packages together access to all videos from within that channel.
- A Channel differs to a Category. A video can be stored in one or more categories, but can only be stored within one channel. Learn more about Categories

- Channels have their own channel pages, they are accessible via hostname/channelname
- If a channel name is changed, a 301 redirect is created and the channel url is updated automatically
