Start a Live Stream with Live Studio

In this article you will learn how to start and manage your Live Stream in webcastcloud Live Studio.

Prior to your live stream, you will have already:

Prepare to Go Live

  1.  In webcastcloud Admin, browse to Videos >Manage Videos >Select your Video >Edit
  2. Click on Media Info tab
  3. Select Live Studio 
  4. From the Live Studio page, once you are ready you can select Prepare To Go Live from the top right of the live studio page

  5. Select Use RTMP Broadcast Software
    The live indicator button will turn yellow whilst your Live Media channel is starting.  This can take up to 60 seconds.

  6. Once the Live Channel has started, you will be presented with the Live Media Settings for your broadcast software. 
  7. Open your preferred Video Meeting or Broadcast Software
  8. Copy the Server URL and Stream Key and paste into your broadcast software live stream settings.   ie, Zoom, Streamyard, GoToMeeting, and moremceclip2.png

 

Start a Live Stream

As soon as your speakers are ready to go live, you can start the following steps.

  1. From your broadcast software (Zoom, OBS Studio, etc) you will need to select Go Live or Start Streaming.  Note - each software may have a different terminology. Refer to articles above.

  2. Important: Allow the encoder stream to run for 45 seconds. This gives enough time for your video to reach the webcastcloud Live Media server.

  3. Select Go Live from webcastcloud Live Studiomceclip3.png


  4. As soon as your live stream starts, your viewers will begin receiving the live stream.  This last sept will change the status on the Video Player from Standby to Live.  mceclip5.png

 

Monitor Live Stream

You will know you are live when you:

  • See a confirmation message on the screen that the live stream has started successfully.
  • You can now see End Broadcast rather than Go Live from the indicator button on the top right. mceclip4.png

 

To Monitor your live stream, you can select Open Monitor

End a Live Stream

  • Once you have finished your live stream, simply select End Broadcast mceclip6.png

  • A 60 second countdown will start, allowing all viewers to see the end of the live stream. 
  • Keep the live studio page open until the broadcast countdown has completed.
  • You can then stop your live stream from your broadcast software
    • Stop Streaming on OBS Studio
    • Stop Live Stream on Zoom

 

Live Stream to Video OnDemand

  • If your live stream was using cloud recording and auto-publish, your video will be on-demand generally within the same duration time as your video. 
  • If you were not using auto publish, you can upload your video manually. Go to Media Info tab of the live stream to upload to the same video location.
